Dr. Julien Fahed
Dr. Fahed is a board-certified gastroenterologist who completed a three-year specialty residency training in internal medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. He followed that with an additional three years of subspecialty fellowship training in gastroenterology at Aurora Health Care in Milwaukee, where he graduated with honors as fellow of the year. Dr. Fahed specializes in diseases of the digestive system, including colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic management of obesity (intragastric balloons, endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty, endoscopic revision of gastric bypass), PEG tube (feeding tube), capsule endoscopy, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, gallstone disease, heartburn, hemorrhoids, hepatitis C and colon cancer screening/prevention.
Dr. Fahed understands the importance of listening to patients and building a professional relationship based on trust. He also believes in bringing personal, social, psychological and spiritual factors into the healing process.
Dr. Fahed is the principal and co-author of many published manuscripts and abstracts in leading international gastroenterology journals. He’s a principal author in several medical books, including the eighth edition of Irwinand Rippe’s Intensive Care Medicine. He’s been invited to present his research at international meetings on numerous occasions, including at Digestive Disease Week (DDW) and the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG). Most recently, he was invited to present his groundbreaking research on colon cancer screening in 20,000 patients at DDW 2019 in San Diego.
Dr. Fahed comes from a medical family – all four of his siblings are also physicians. When he’s not helping patients, he enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors and playing the guitar and piano.
